Day 26: Your religious beliefs.
took a mini-break from tumblr, but here I am to finish this 30-day challenge in 30+ days.
I am a Catholic. I may not always follow all of its beliefs but to err is human. I was raised by parents who are devout Catholics and went to a Catholic school. I’m not saying that my religion is the best, or Christianity is the right religion. Being a Catholic, I was taught to respect everyone and what they believe in. So why not others’ religion? There is no right or wrong religion. We all look up to a greater entity we can’t really explain. When I was a kid, religion gave me direction. I somewhat lived off fear of not getting into heaven. That I had to do this or not do that because that will prevent me from entering it. Now that I think about it, I wish we didn’t live off fear. Whoever our God is, He doesn’t want us to fear him. He is a loving God. We should embrace him, live as if we are living His teachings, not being scared of getting smitten by Him. We should live with love, not with fear.
I myself believe in all of the bible’s teachings. I don’t know the bible from cover to cover, but I try to follow the example Jesus has been to all peoples.
